Author Photography Workshop

Keys to develop a personal project

Héctor Mediavilla and Mauro Pinto, a Mozambican photographer, have led a photography workshop from June 10 to 15, 2019, for eight young professional photographers.

The workshop "AUTHOR PHOTOGRAPHY: Keys for the development of a personal project", has been organized by the Embassy of Spain in Maputo, with funds from the ACERCA program of the Spanish Cooperation, which promotes the meeting between cultural professionals for the generation of human capital.

The ACERCA photography workshop aimed to transfer techniques for the conceptualization of an author's project, from the initial idea to its materialisation. Guidelines were given for reflection and creative thinking.

The work theme chosen among all was love with the challenge that the participants find a personal and original perspective.

The photographer Yassmin Forte has highlighted how the workshop has emphasized the need to reflect before starting any author's project, to identify the message that you want to convey.

Adiodado Gómez, another participant, pointed out that the originality of the workshop was that it was not so much about photography techniques, as about techniques to improve photographic thinking.

Tina Krüger, photographer and filmmaker based in Maputo, especially valued the freedom to search and improve the ideas of each participant.
