ON SPIRITS

The contemplation of life's deepest meaning and the concept of transcendence has captivated me since childhood. This predisposition, I've come to understand, gained its profound urgency from a stark reality: my brother's life-threatening congenital illness. This early exposure to life's fragility ignited an insatiable drive to comprehend existence and my own purpose within it.

My journey has unfolded across a spectrum of spiritual practices. I've explored the minimalist path of Zen, the ancestral wisdom of Shamanism, the communal energy of Conchero dance, and the bodily awareness of Yoga, among others. These diverse explorations have been vital in my continuous effort to unravel the enigma of being.

Consequently, I've found a compelling connection between this personal exploration and my work with a camera. There's a genuine pleasure and necessity in photographing narratives that reveal how certain individuals engage with the transcendent. My aim is to visually articulate those intimate connections, highlighting the universal human quest for meaning beyond the material world.
