ABOUT ME
I am a Spanish documentary photographer interested in the human condition and his relationship with the environment. I have mainly photographed in Africa and Latin America since 2001, when I started my photographic career.
I am graduate in Economics by Esade (Barcelona).
My passion for knowing other cultures naturally led me to photography. When I began, I was only interested in denouncing injustices but now, more experienced, I realize I am principally focused in understanding the human condition. Why we do what we do, why we believe in what we believe.
I have published my pictures in international publications such as Colors, Geo, New York Times, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, XXI, Photo, Esquire and many others.
My work has been recognized in competitions like The Hansel Mieth Prize, Picture of the Year, Center Project Competition, Fotopres 05 from La Caixa, Photo España New Talents and has also deserved a CoNCA grant.
My pictures are often exhibited internationally both in solo and collectives exhibitions. They have been shown in places like the Musée Dapper in Paris, the Museum der Weltkulturen in Frankfurt, Galleria Ollerios from Sao Paulo or the Centre Culturel Français of Kinshasa.
Since 2003 I am a member of the Cooperative Agency Picture Tank from Paris, which distributes my editorial work internationally.
In 2007, with three other independent documentary photographers, we founded the Spanish collective Pandora.
